FuelCell Energy Inc. (NASDAQ: FCEL) reported first-quarter revenue at $28.1 million, up from $14.6 million it earned during the first quarter of the last year. Evergreen Solar Inc. (NASDAQ: ESLR) reported its net loss at $(411 million), or $(11.99) per share, compared with a net loss of $(98.4 million), or $(2.88) per share, in the same period a year ago.� The dismal figures were due to charges and write-downs for shutting down its manufacturing plant at Devens, which the company says will allow it to become a supplier of low-cost silicon wafers.
