Hot Topic Cuts FY Q4 Forecast

Whoops.

Quasi Goth/soccer-moms-in-leather apparel retailer�Hot Topic (HOTT) this afternoon reportedworse-than-expected same-store sales for December and lowered its outlook for the fiscal Q4 ending this month. Same-store sales last month fell 10.9%, the company reported, worse than the First Call estimate of 8.4%. The company lowered its fiscal Q4 forecast (ending this month) to profit of 18 cents to 20 cents per share, from a prior forecast of 23 cents to 26 cents per share offered back on November 18.

Hot Topic shares, after being halted following the release, are now down 38 cents, or 6.4%, at $5.58; the stock closed up 5 cents, or 1%, at $5.96 in regular trading.
