Apple (AAPL) this morning announced that both AT&T (T) and Verizon Wireless (VZ, VOD) – really, Verizon – will start selling the iPad on October 28.
- Verizon Wireless will sell the iPad in over 2,000 of its stores. It will offer three bundles, all featuring a WiFi model iPad with a MiFi mobile hot spot. Prices range from $629.99 for the 16 GB model, to $729.99 for 32 GB and $829.99 for 64 GB. Verizon is offering monthly access of up to 1 GB for $20 a month. All three iPads will also be offered on a standalone basis.
- AT&T will offer all three 3G iPad models in more than 2,200 stores, priced at $629, $729 and $829. Data plans are $14.99 for 250 MB and 2 GB for $25.
So you have a choice: connect via WiFi and Mifi, or go direct to 3G. Which is better?

- T is up 14 cents, or 0.5%, to $28.61.
Update: News that Verizon will be bundling the iPad with the Novatel (NVTL) MiFi has given a boost to NVTL shares: the stock is up 61 cents, or 6.2%, to $10.44.
