Market Rising on Hopes About Europe, Fed; Earnings from MCD, GE, HON

The market continued to ride the momentum from its late rally on Thursday as investors appear to be more optimistic about European leaders coming to an agreement about expand the EU bailout fund. The Wall Street Journal also has an article out saying the Fed is considering a new plan to buy mortgage-backed securities.

Dow futures rose 108 points to 11,580; S&P 500 futures rose 12.7 points to 1,222.6.

General Electric (GE) posted earnings that were in line with analysts’ expectations, and shares slid about 1.8% in pre-market action. McDonald’s (MCD) and Honeywell (HON) jumped 4% rose 3% after beating earnings expectations.�
